A first introduction to the rules of bowling.
In turn, each player hits the pins, formerly known as skittles, with a bowling ball. Each player has two attempts in each round to clear all the pins. A complete game consists of ten rounds.
The aim is to get as many "strikes", i.e. all the pins at once. This is because one strike scores the most points. Pins that are still standing after the first throw can be cleared with the second throw. If the player manages to clear all the remaining pins with the second throw, this is called a spare. If at least one pin is still standing after the second throw, this is called an open frame.
The result of each frame is recorded and is included in the score.
